About This Event

Alchemy is one of humanity’s oldest ways of thinking about transformation. It is a language that links the microcosmos of human life with the universal macrocosmos. The phrase “As above, so below,” attributed to the Emerald Tablet, expresses a central alchemical intuition.

Historically, alchemy was both a practical discipline and a symbolic one. It worked with natural substances and processes, while also offering a way to speak about change, crisis, refinement, and renewal. The effort to transform base matter into gold functioned, at the same time, as a way of reflecting on the transformation of the human soul.

Alchemy speaks through images, myths, and paradoxes. Across cultures and centuries, this symbolic language shaped religious thought, philosophy, and later psychology. This course approaches alchemy as a historical tradition which offers a reflective map of inner change.

Rumi, the mystic Sufi poet (1207–1273), said, "What you are seeking is seeking you." Alchemy was understood in much the same way. Its practitioners spoke of the Opus Magnum, the Great Work, the endless path of inner-transformation. This course is offered in that spirit.

Who This Course Is For

This course is intended for thoughtful participants who are curious about the symbolic traditions and intellectual history of Alchemy. It will speak to those drawn to myth, spirituality, psychology, and the meeting point between ancient wisdom and our life.

No prior background is required, yet a willingness to engage with symbolic language, complexity, and slow reflection is assumed.

Who This Course Is Not For

This course is not a technical study of chemistry, a guide to esoteric practice, or a self-help program offering quick clarity or practical shortcuts. It is not designed for those seeking immediate answers or simplified conclusions. The work unfolds gradually and asks for patience, attentiveness, and openness to ambiguity.
