About This Event

Trauma and chronic stress are held in the body, restricting our breath and blocking the flow of bioenergy. This limits our natural expression of feelings and connection and leaves a profound emotional impact that can give rise to a range of emotions, including sadness, anger, anxiety, and depression.

If you’re looking to clear the traumatic blockages that affect your mental and physical health, join somatic psychotherapist and educator Jennifer McKeever for a transformative 4-part workshop exploring the BioDynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System® 6-Element approach to empower your body’s natural process for healing.

Jennifer supports you in opening your breath and body as you gently move through layers of body tension, discovering where and how past trauma and emotional stress are stored in your physical body. Discover the use of breath as the primary tool for creating change on the somatic level, along with supporting practices of movement, touch, sound, conscious emotional expression, and meditation.

This online workshop is suitable for anyone passionate about breathwork or simply curious about the power of the breath-body connection and embodied approaches to healing from trauma and easing stress.

A deeper understanding of how trauma works within your body can be incredibly empowering. Over our four sessions together you will discover:

• Breath and movement techniques to support your body’s natural process to release chronic tension, self-restricting patterns, and emotional trauma — clearing the way for feelings of joy, self-love, and deep relaxation.

• What “trauma” is and why you might have had a hard time healing from this pain

• The six elements of BioDynamic Breathwork — breath, movement, sound, touch, emotions, and meditation

• The seven belts of tension or body segments — ocular, oral, cervical, thoracic, diaphragmatic, abdominal, and pelvic — and how they’re different from the chakras

• Effective breathwork techniques to create positive brain changes and emotional regulation – you can calm your mind or energize your body, depending on what is needed

• Ways to expand your window of tolerance to become more resilient, even in the face of your triggers

• How to utilize your body’s natural rhythm of moving between the contraction of tension and the expansion of relaxation in a process called pendulation

• Learn brief, daily practices for ongoing healing in your body, mind, and spirit

In addition to Breathwork practices and sessions, Prema shares valuable information on the anatomy of breathwork, the physiology of trauma, and the crucial role of embodiment and somatic practices in releasing trauma without feelings of overwhelm and drain. Releasing our core tension unbinds incredible amounts of energy, which can fuel creativity, improve meditation, and help us live more fully.
